America! When this name comes to mind we think how beautiful that country would be. All over the world, people go there to achieve their dreams. So if you are planning to go you must know there are many things banned in America. Some of them might shock you. No matter how big person you are or how rich you are you can’t buy these things in America. Let’s take a look at them.

Here are these things banned in America.

1. Haggis

Haggis is a savory pudding containing sheep’s pluck (heart, liver, and lungs) minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices, and salt, mixed with stock, traditionally encased in the animal’s stomach though now often in an artificial casing instead. In 1971 it became illegal to import haggis into the US from the UK due to a ban on food containing sheep lung, which constitutes 10 to 15% of the traditional recipe. However, you can make it in the home to taste it.

2. Ephedra

Ephedra is a medicinal preparation from the plant Ephedra sinica. It used in traditional Chinese medicine for more than 2,000 years. In recent years, dietary supplements containing ephedra alkaloid found to be unsafe, with reports of serious side effects and ephedra-related deaths. In response to accumulating evidence of adverse effects and deaths related to ephedra, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) banned the sale of supplements containing ephedrine alkaloids in 2004.

Many of the Americans don’t even know about this. It is a type of chocolate egg, which contains a toy inside of the chocolate. When you crack the chocolate toy would be there. It is tasty but you can never taste it in America because in 1938 it has been by the food Govt. Because toys are inside the food which may cause the children swallow it and get chocked. Some people still get confused why it has banned, when it is nearly impossible to eat it and swallow even for a child. Still, we can’t complain this as it banned.

5. Fresh ackee fruit

It is native to tropical West Africa, Ackee, and saltfish, a traditional Jamaican dish. But it banned in the USA. You may find package products but fresh ackee fruit banned.

6. Dog and cats skin products

Every item that has made with dog and cat’s skin banned in the USA. It is completely illegal to import and export dog’s and cat’s fur products. It has created by the USA animal law.

7. Absinthe

Absinthe is historically described as a distilled, highly alcoholic beverage. It is an anise-flavoured spirit derived from botanicals, including the flowers and leaves of Artemisia absinthium, together with green anise, sweet fennel, and other medicinal and culinary herbs. Absinthe has often portrayed as a dangerously addictive psychoactive drug and hallucinogen. By 1915, absinthe had banned in the United States.

8. Sassafras oil

Sassafras is a genus of three extant and one extinct species of deciduous trees in the family Lauraceae. Sassafras oil has also used as a natural insect or pest deterrent, and in cordials and homemade liquor to mask strong or unpleasant smells. Sassafras oil has also  added to soap and other toiletries. Banned in the United States for use in commercially mass-produced foods and drugs by the FDA as a potential carcinogen.

9. Casu Marzu

Casu marzu is a traditional Sardinian sheep milk cheese, notable for containing live insect larvae. Yes, you heard it right contain live insect! I’m sure you are happy to see this product banned in the USA me either. Why someone would eat it even.

10. Mirabelle plums

The mirabelle plum, also known as the mirabelle prune, is the edible drupaceous fruit of the mirabelle plum tree. It makes not that much sense why it banned in the USA, just because similar to this fruit one plum found in America. There is not much reason why it has banned.
